International Standards For Multifunctional Sockets

There are several standards for electrical plugs worldwide, with the Chinese standard, American standard, European standard, British standard, Australian standard, and South African standard being the main ones.

Chinese Standard: Besides China, the Chinese standard plug is also used in Australia. It is characterized by three flat prongs.

American Standard: The American standard plug is used in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other countries. It is characterized by one round and two flat prongs.

European Standard: The European standard plug is used in Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and South Korea. It is characterized by two round prongs. Switzerland and Italy also use the European standard, but their standard has three small round prongs.

British Standard: The British standard plug is used in the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. It is characterized by three square prongs. The UK also has a 2-prong socket, generally used for electric shavers, but its voltage is lower and not suitable for Chinese electrical appliances.

Australian Standard: The Australian standard is largely similar to the Chinese standard. The plug type is the figure-eight Australian standard, and there is also a three-prong Australian standard with a neutral wire.

South African Standard: The South African standard plug is mainly used in South Africa. It is characterized by three round prongs.
